15 October is celebrated as Global Hand Washing Day each year. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Fernandez Hospital between 9 to 16 October. This year's theme, "Clean Hands are Within Reach", emphasised that everyone has a role to play in ensuring clean hands are within reach.

The blessing ceremony on October 16th was resplendent with attendees, vibrant lights, and a festive ambience, reflecting Fernandez's signature minimalistic yet elegant style. Dr Tejaswini skillfully emceed the event, while Fr. Cyril led the blessings and sprinkled holy water around the facility, fostering a sense of spiritual connection. Dr Evita highlighted the day's significance, and Dr Pramod lit the ceremonial candle and traced the facility's journey from inception to completion. The event left everyone joyous and eager for this new chapter in maternal and newborn care. For all these blessings, our gratitude was best expressed through the uplifting hymn ‘Dhanyavad’. The service concluded with Fr. Cyril blessing the facility.

This World Breastfeeding Week (Aug 1-7) Fernandez was abuzz with an array of activities like an art contest, a quiz, a grab-and-go snack display for nursing mothers, free lactation counselling for expectant and nursing mothers and a live discussion on how to enable breastfeeding for working mothers. A big thank you to all the departments and teams that got together to make the World Breastfeeding Week celebrations a huge success! Overall, it was a busy World Breastfeeding Week at Fernandez. Global Handwashing Day was celebrated at Fernandez on 15th October, and this year’s theme, “Unite for Universal Hand Hygiene,” called for coordinated action toward universal hand hygiene. At Fernandez, our activities included Community Outreach Activities and Skits / Dance performances by Nurses on the Importance of Handwashing besides a gamut of other activities. Heartfelt thanks to each one who participated and helped coordinate these events. We owe every bit of the success to you!

Fernandez adds a new feather to its cap! The Midwifery OP at Stork Home moved to a brand-new space on the 5th floor on 26 February. This will be a dedicated floor for midwife-led clinics and marks another landmark in the history of Fernandez Foundation. The inaugural began on a holy note with a blessing by Fr. Tom. The event was attended by Dr Evita Fernandez, Dr Pramod, and Ms Indie Kaur along with the HODs and Managers from different departments. We thank and congratulate each person who worked towards getting this department ready.

Fun, frolic, dance, drama, smiles, cheers, and awards defined Fernandez Foundation’s 73rd Annual Hospital Day on 19th December. The celebrations had the participation of all six units at Fernandez Hospital. The video was viewed a record 3000 times on YouTube in one day. On behalf of the Foundation, we thank all the Participants, HR, IT, B&C/Multimedia, Maintenance and Housekeeping teams. You put in humongous efforts, and it showed spectacularly. Kudos to all!!
